微型游戏机是电子游戏机的一类。许多被称为微型游戏机设备使用专门设计的廉价安卓系统，这些系统为连接电视机以及从Google Play等应用商店下载电子游戏而设计。 2010年，云端游戏新创公司OnLive推出MicroConsole。这是一种连接电视与无线控制器的家用游戏机，能与该公司的串流游戏服务连线。[1]该公司意欲以低成本硬体提供高品质游戏。
Ouya则是在2012年7月于众筹平台推出，借由平价且简单的硬体，使用安卓系统连接电视进行游戏，迅即筹资八百五十万美元。[2][3]随着手机游戏蓬勃发展，市场对低价安卓系统游戏机发生极大兴趣，并将这类机器称为微型游戏机。 [4][5][6][7][8][9]
